Member's area - rehearsal venues DIRECTIONS FOR REHEARSAL VENUES
Recital Hall, Gibson Music School, King’s School, Ely. IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to ongoing building works the school car park is currently not in use. Parking is therefore only available on the street (in The Gallery etc.) or in any of the main public car parks. Entry to the venue is via the gates on The Gallery. Parking at rear of Hayward Theatre accessed via Church Lane - one way street. ( As you come into Ely heading North from the A10 you will see St Mary’s Church on your right just past the Tourist Information Centre. Turn right into the small road – looks like a cul-de-sac with lots of parked cars -with the Old Fire Engine Restaurant on your left – carry on into the corner (Cathedral and Palace Green in sight dead ahead) and the one way lane is Church Street. Entrance to Gibson & Hayward and Parking on the left at the end of this lane just before you come to the T- Junction with Silver Street . Alternatively park in The Gallery (street passing the Cathedral West Front) or in Barton Rd. Car Park (also known as the cathedral car park) & walk through. The School Gates in The Gallery are often locked at weekends so assume entry via Church Lane. Morbey Hall, Kings School (and Junior Music Room) Junior School is situated in Barton Rd, opposite the Barton Rd Car Park. There is good parking at the school itself. Enter via main school doors, up a few steps in lobby and turn right down a very long corridor and the hall is at the far end. City of Ely Community College, Downham Rd, Ely CB6 2SH From Cambridge & The South - take A10 Northwards bypassing Ely - pass over the roundabout at the junction with the A142 (Little Chef & Travel Lodge on your left) after a mile at next roundabout take third exit (right - heading into Ely) *Go straight ahead at next roundabout and City of Ely College entrance is immediately after the layby with the recycling bins. Turn left into first Car Park and Needhams Hall entrance is on the right hand side of the rear of the big car park. From Kings Lynn & The North - Follow A10 past Littleport and at the roundabout indicating Little Downham to the right and Ely Historical Centre to the left, take first exit and follow directions as at * above. NB: If you are coming from the Ely end of Downham Road please note that you should go to the 2nd car park and not the 1st! This has caused confusion in the past. Prickwillow Village Hall – Check your road map to see how to find Prickwillow which is 3 miles N.E. of Ely. Coming from Ely, the Village Hall is set back down a bit of a slope on your left, just before the church. – not very well signed so go slowly. Little Downham Village Hall will be found on the right just after the church which is on a sharp left hand bend after you enter the village. Parking at the rear or on the road. Little Downham is 3 or so miles North West of Ely signposted at a roundabout off the A10. Little Downham Community Rooms Follow directions for Little Downham Village Hall but then keep going through village towards Pymoor. Pass the Village shop on your left and then after about 300 yards the Methodist Church (the former Church Hall) is on your right just before the old Methodist Church (now a house conversion) If you reach the Plough Pub on your right you have gone too far. Wicken Mission Hall DIRECTIONS FROM ELY
1. From Ely, take the A10 southwards towards Cambridge. At Stretham roundabout turn left along the A1123 (signposted Wicken and Soham). 2. Go over three bridges (a river bridge, a railway bridge and then another river bridge). After about 4 miles come into Wicken village. Pass the sign pointing right to Wicken Fen (National Trust). 3. Shortly after this, Memorial Green is on the left. The Mission Hall is set back from the road at an angle, with parking in front of it. DIRECTIONS FROM CAMBRIDGE
1. Take the A10 north from central Cambridge to Stretham then turn right to Wicken and follow above
