From time to time, kind supporters record us, often for their own use.  With permission, we are providing links to some of their recording of our past concerts.  Here they are: we hope you enjoy them and that they give an idea of what this relatively new, amateur orchestra is capable of.  Click on the titles to hear the recordings.

Something Old, Something New

ES-reh-7On June 19th 2015 Ely Sinfonia performed an exciting and unusual programme of music under the title “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”
The concert consisted of music from 1680 to 2006, covering baroque, classical, contemporary, rock, pop and blues, and featured special guests Jenny Bingham (soprano), Rowan Marshall (keyboard) and Mark Fawcett (electric guitar). The concert was recorded by Mark Fawcett. Rowan Marshall was commissioned to write several new arrangements of some of the songs especially for this concert. Steve writes; “I wanted to put together a programme which broke a few rules by mixing a wide range of musical styles, and which also contained some theatrical elements designed to use the space available in Ely Cathedral.
